Went a couple of times to the old Yew Tree, must have been in the ’80s. Out for a drink with friends, I must have been in my early 20’s.
I also used to come up to the old swan market. It felt like a smaller version of the indoor market in town. There were lots of little shops in side, a butcher and clothes shops and a cafe. I went every couple of weeks. I didn’t do my big shop there but I went to look around. I went for the butcher and the habadashery/dressmaker for buttons thread. I enjoyed it as I liked hunting down a bargain.
