We moved into 22 Henshaw Grove in 1967. The grove was alive with children. There was a big island in the middle where we would meet and play games. It was a short walk to the park . I would be out all day walking from Oaklands down to the rec at the River Cole and over to visit my nan in Larch Walk. Blakesly Hall Museum was just getting started when I was young and we would wander down there sometimes too. We walked everywhere.
